Founded by Simone Torres and Ruchi Parikh, Soundtrack Mixers is a community event series for women, non-
binary and gender expansive people actively contributing behind the scenes in music, creating the
soundtracks to people's lives. The inspiration behind this initiative stems from a stark reality faced by many
women and non-binary folks in the technical fields of music.

Recent studies show that only 2.1% of producers and 1.9% of audio engineers are women or non-binary people.
(Source: Fix The Mix - Annual Report 2023 by We Are Moving The Needle). Despite women playing pivotal roles
across various facets of the music industry, there remains a substantial gender gap.

Soundtrack Mixers aims to bridge the gap between those wanting to start their careers in music and those
who are well established. We seek to create a safe space for these people to network, build community, seek
advice, and find opportunity through in-person and digital events.

The inaugural event of Soundtrack Mixers in August 2023 was a huge success. Bringing together individuals
aspiring to carve their paths in music with well-established producers and engineers like Ali Stone and Yang
Tan, attendees had the unique opportunity to interact with industry professionals, gaining insights into the
nuances of music production, vocal production, post-production, mixing, and mastering.

In 2024, Soundtrack Mixers will be expanding by hosting events in Los Angeles, New York, and Miami. We’re
excited to bring together women and non-binary folks from all over the globe and build our Soundtrack
